One of A.C.Coy Company's strategic Clients located in the Boston, Mass, area
currently is looking to fill the position of SENIOR CLIENT/SERVER OPERATIONS
ANALYST
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Information Science or equivalent experience
required
- Strong knowledge of server and desktop processing/operating systems required
- 5 - 7 years experience supporting the desktop/server environment required
- Minimum 4 years experience with Microsoft products (Windows OS, Word, Excel,
Exchange) required
- Network experience with protocols (TCP/IP) LAN, WAN architecture support
required
- Experience with UNIX administration and SQL administration required
- Experience with c-shell and/or bourne shell scripting required
- Experience with HP and Dell servers; VM Ware; Hummingbird Exceed preferred
- Seasoned knowledge in the areas of designated responsibility along with
experience in the evaluation and research of new products or services required
- CNE and/or MSCE preferred
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Provide on site support and maintenance for the Clients MDT infrastructure,
including but not limited to servers, storage, backups, network, phones and
desktops
- Collaborate with other BISD team members to ensure appropriate integration,
consistency and efficiency of MDT infrastructure and Clients/BISD processes,
such as ITIL-based Service Management (e.g., Incident, Problem, Change,
Configuration), Sarbanes-Oxley, Compliance and Audit
- Adhere to and recommend improvements to the operational environment based on
a working knowledge (e.g., problem and root cause resolution, hardware,
software, schedules, etc.)
- Establish and administer change control
- Respond to requests for internal and external audits by generating and
compiling documentation and reports
- Troubleshoot problems with supported systems and applications; identify,
explain and resolve complex problems, ensuring all related problems are
identified and logged in the designated tracking system
- Utilize and contribute to the designated knowledge management system(s)
- Confer with software systems engineers in the event errors require a change
of instructions or sequence of operations
- Ensure a secure operating environment and effective use of resources for the
various applications and infrastructure
- Ensure system optimization: monitor, troubleshoot and resolve performance
issues as they relate to: OS, CPU, memory, disk space, network, schedules, and
backups
- Work closely with applications teams to provide integrated planning for
operating system upgrades, application/software upgrades, business continuity
planning and hardware upgrades
- Install, configure, administer and support the operating system,
applications/software, hardware, peripheral devices and networking protocols
pertaining to the desktop environment
- Responsible for inventory related activities (e.g., versions, software,
hardware, devices, etc.)
- Provide seasoned technical leadership, knowledge transfer and guidance to
less experienced coworkers
- Develop tactical plans for assigned initiatives
- Generate documentation and status reports as requested
- Demonstrate a cooperative attitude and effective interpersonal and
communication skills with clients, coworkers and vendors
HOURS/LOCATION:
- 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Overtime and off-hours support as required)
