One of A.C.Coy Company's strategic Clients located in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area currently is looking for a Quality Assurance Java Developer.

Job Description

Currently QA utilizes manual test methods exclusively. We will be developing an automated test framework to allow tests executed regularly during the development cycle rather than once toward the end of development. This framework will be utilized to automate regression testing and to create a performance test environment. The framework will be utilized to run regression tests unattended, saving several man days of testing effort. Testing revised features could also be done more efficiently since testing would start from an existing script rather than manually repeating tests. Since the effort to execute tests would be greatly reduced, more tests could be run resulting in more defects found.

Due to the nature of the MailRx user interface and the complexities associated with the application, appropriate off-the-shelf test tools do not exist to assist in this effort. Therefore much of the framework must be developed in-house in conjunction with open source or purchased software.

The Senior Developer will work with the QA Manager and QA Analysts to develop and evaluate tools to be used testing and verification. The test tool suite will consist of in-house tools and purchased software to generate test data, execute automated tests and evaluate test results. Other supporting projects may be assigned such as a tool to 'de-identify' customer data. The developer will specify, design, implement and test these tools in conjunction with the QA Manager and Chief Architect. The developer will also be responsible for the maintenance of the tools developed.

Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent degree is required with at least 5 years professional experience. Java, UNIX, Sybase (or equivalent database) is required, C or C++ is preferred. The developer must be able to work independently and be able to develop requirements for the tool suite in addition to writing high quality software. Excellent communication skills are essential.
