One of A.C.Coy Company's strategic clients located in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area currently is looking for an Oracle Database Administrator

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, Math or related experience required; Master Degree preferred
• Minimum of 3 years practical experience in the development, implementation, monitoring and problem solving of Oracle databases require
• Advanced, specialized technical skills in more than one technology that is critical to systems (e.g., Oracle, UNIX operating system, and EMC Storage) required
• Familiarity with Oracle 10g, OEM and RMAN preferred

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Perform monitoring and optimization of database performance
• Provide technical expertise in the design and development of complex SQL
• Perform off-hours support as required
• Perform database disaster recovery planning and implementation
• Perform duties while strictly adhering to departmental standards and processes/procedures (accurate time-tracking, project management methodology, change requests, service requests, problem management, etc.)
• Responsible for database recovery methodologies and the ability to perform each
• Responsible for collecting performance data over a period of time, performing correlation and analysis for diagnosis, prevention of problems as well as planning for the future
• Responsible for determining root cause of recurring incidents and documenting solutions within the knowledgebase
• Participate in initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the division
